In the third quarter of 2024, the top communication apps on Android in El Salvador showed varied performance patterns, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Snapchat by Snap Inc experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $44 in late August. Weekly downloads saw fluctuations, with a notable dip in early September to about 17.7K, before climbing back to 27.2K by the end of the quarter. Meanwhile, weekly active users showed a slight decline in July but rebounded towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately 1.28M.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained robust engagement with weekly active users averaging around 2.4M. However, its weekly downloads experienced a downward trend, dropping from 22.7K at the quarter's start to about 16.3K by the end of September.

Messenger by Meta Platforms, Inc. saw a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting at 23.7K and ending at about 15.2K. Despite this, its weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 530K throughout the quarter.

Telegram from Telegram FZ-LLC showed a significant revenue increase, reaching $289 in late September. Downloads peaked mid-quarter at 15K before tapering off to 9.5K by quarter-end. Its weekly active users remained consistent, around 198K.

Lastly, Mi Tigo El Salvador had a decline in weekly downloads from 12.4K in early July to 10.8K by the end of September. Weekly active users fluctuated but ended the quarter with a slight increase, reaching approximately 46.9K.
